These terms set out the conditions for using the mobile game Defense 1950 (the "Service") provided by ECSOFT (the "Operator").
You agree to these terms on the in-app agreement screen. The Operator may change these terms; for unfavorable or important changes we will ask for your consent again in the app.
The Service is a cartoon-style hill-capture strategy game set in the Korean War (1950โ1953). It offers a campaign of 21 hills in 4 chapters (difficulty 1 to 5 stars), the online co-op mode "Retake the Hill Together" for up to 4 players (empty seats are filled by AI allies; all enemies are AI), nickname-based global rankings, settings, and optional ads that give supply bonuses.
The campaign can be played offline; scores earned offline are uploaded the next time you connect. Online features such as rankings and co-op may be temporarily unavailable due to network conditions or server maintenance.
Medals, supplies and other in-game rewards are for gameplay only, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to other players. They and your campaign progress are stored on your device and are not restored after deleting the app or changing devices. There are no paid purchases (no in-app purchases).
The Service is free and contains ads. Rewarded ads appear only when you tap a "Watch ad" button, and give a supply bonus when finished, up to the limit shown in the app. Interstitial ads may appear between battles, at most once every 3 battles, and never during the tutorial or "Retake the Hill Together" battles. Ad content is provided by the ad network; the Operator is not responsible for dealings between you and advertisers.
Your nickname and game records (campaign total, weekly best, free-battle score, hills taken) are shown publicly in rankings and in co-op. Nicknames containing profanity, hate speech, slurs against any nation or ethnic group, impersonation, personal information or advertising are not allowed and may be changed or removed without notice, together with their records. Records obtained by abnormal means may be deleted.
You must not:
There is no free chat in co-op; only 11 preset emote speech bubbles are available. Online battles may lag or disconnect depending on the network. The Operator may delete records or restrict online features for players who break these rules.
The Service uses real hills and periods of the Korean War as its setting, but the characters, units and battle outcomes in the game are fictional and created for gameplay; they differ from actual history. Pre-battle briefings summarize publicly available historical sources and do not represent an official or scholarly position of the Operator. The Service does not intend to glorify war or demean any nation, people or individual.
We protect your information according to our Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided free of charge "as is". Except for intent or gross negligence, the Operator is not liable for lost records or items, temporary outages, or disconnections in online battles.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are handled by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
